Chef/Proprietor Greg Martin

 

Chef Greg Marin is a native Houstonian and a staple of the local restaurant community for over twenty-five years. In 2014 he realized his lifelong goal of opening Bistro Menil.

Greg developed the concept for Bistro Menil over several years of international travel, enjoying outstanding regional food and wine in Spain, France, and Italy. His visits to authentic bistros inspired him to share his experiences.  His menus feature European-inspired, American fare paired with select wines. “I want to reclaim the classic definition of a bistro here by providing casual dining in a friendly, lively and wine-focused establishment,” says Martin.

Greg is extremely excited about sharing his culinary vision at the beautifully designed Bistro Menil,  a blend of modern and rustic, refinement with a nod towards nature.  With views overlooking The Menil Collection and Menil Park, the main dining room seats 68 persons.  The Prive room seats 24 and connects with the patio area that seats 40 (weather permitting).  

 

Greg eagerly awaits your arrival and looks forward to serving the entire community, providing a place to share excellent food and wine with family and friends.

Manager Elizabeth Millan

With an extensive background in restaurant management, Elizabeth brings her considerable managerial and culinary skills to Bistro Menil.  When Chef Greg Martin first considered assembling his team, he knew immediately who he wanted as his lead person.  Elizabeth and Chef Martin first collaborated on a restaurant project in the late 1990’s and have been fortunate enough to pair again for this team endeavor  

 

With a knack for putting people at ease with her warm and engaging personality and a talent for multitasking, Elizabeth helps keep the restaurant humming.
